Sapphire Flower Cockoach, (Eucorydia yasumatsui)
Common name - Sapphire Flower Cockoach
Scientific name - Eucorydia yasumatsui
The listing is for 1x animal, of a highly sought-after species of cockroach that is well-known for their intense, metallic blue colouring as adults. This isĀ aĀ RAREĀ species ofĀ cockroach that was offered for sale for theĀ first time ever in the UK by me in 2022.
Nymphs of this species cannot climb smooth surfaces (unlike emerald roaches), but becomeĀ capable climbers once they reach adulthood. Good ventilation is a must for this species. Please note that this species only becomes blue after the final moult, and is a small species where fully grown adults are 10mm in length.
These areĀ CAPTIVEĀ BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Iriomote Island, Japan.
The nymphs and adults feed mainly on leaf litter. Additional supplements such as fruits, bee pollen and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
