⨂ Skeleton Isopod "Corbera", (Porcellio bolivari)

Common name - Skeleton Isopod "Corbera"
Scientific name - Porcellio bolivari "Corbera"

The listing is for 1x animal, of a large species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that is highly sought after for their skeleton-like appearance and elegant shape. Older males can get particularly large with their elongated uropods.

This is a culture called "Corbera", named after the region that this culture was originally collected. This localised population from the municipality of Corbera in Valencia, Spain is genetically distinct from the currently established Porcellio bolivari in the hobby. Individuals from this distinct population tend to exhibit stronger black ribs between segments compared to the regular population.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Corbera, Spain. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.

Like other giant Porcellio species, this species prefers a less moist environment compared to other isopods, with plenty of airflow as well.

The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
